Guarding the main entrance at Biltmore House near Ashville North Carolina are two massive carved stone lions. Carved of Rosso di Verona marble from Italy, these lions are believed to date to the late nineteenth century and were not put in place until late 1899 or early 1900. Canon G10, 1/1000 sec @ f/4.5, ISO 80
