Isn't Bodie just a wonderland for photographers? Nice capture! Did you go inside the church? I'll have to dig up some of our photos and review them! I believe Bodie is closed now for the season as the Sierras are getting snow!

Thank you all and welcome!!! Bodie is a fabulous place! And yes desert...I've been inside! This is the old Methodist church in Bodie...it was a very rough gold mining town and known for thievery and murders...behind the altar was an oilcloth with the ten commandments on it...it was stolen! The title was an actual quote from the diary of a little girl who's parents were moving her to Bodie...

Bodie is such a wonderful place to photograph...a picture in all directions! I like your composition of this church.

Kathryn,
I agree with Carolyn, I like the composition and the subject but the word "goodbye" shouldn't go with God. I'm glad you explained it. :)

I know what you mean Mike...the little girl who was moving to Bodie I'm sure figured she was moving into a den of eniquity...not exactly closer to God...

That's a beautiful shot and interesting comments or I never would have understood.

Thank you Dot and Neal! Dot, when you read about Bodie, one thing that stands out, is it was definitely a "Wild West" town! Murder and thievery were common...
