Isabella, I have to say I do not know the source of the shadow. After studying your image my best guess may be that it originated from a section of fence perhaps? I would be interested in knowing, Mike

sorry for the late answer ...
I took this photo in a very old Gothic church in northern Germany. The stone is a very large grave stone hanging on a church wall. The shade is made of a central pillar of a church window through which the light is incident.
