I like this Pat and I'm either spot on about the 'woodwork' or am about to make a fool of myself, but here goes....Three toilet seats, but from where?

Ha! You are "spot on" Pete! It sits on the grounds of the old Goffs school house in the Ghost Town of Goffs in the California Mojave Desert. I'm not sure if it was actually from the school, the town, or one of the many defunct mines in the area. I was so tickled by the sight of this thing that I didn't even notice the piece of antique glass sitting on it until later. Goffs is one of the more isolated Ghost Towns in the Mojave.

When we were in the ancient city of Ostia outside of Rome, we toured the ruins...they had a "restroom" with spots for numerous folks...turns out it was the "mens" room...and rumor has it they used to sit for hours talking politics and stuff!!!

that's funny! This place reminded me of boot camp. Two rows of toilets just sitting next to each other. No walls between them.
