Corazon is a charitable organization that goes in to various parts of Mexico and builds houses and provides many more services and educational scholarships for the indigent. The people who benefit from this do so after considerable hard work that includes community service, attending classes about domestic violence and child abuse, as well as many educational opportunites. After they earn so many points, they are eligible for a new home. Charitable organizations like, in our case, Rotary International partner with Corazon to "build a house in a day"!
I love the way he's framed by the darkness insdie the building. My father belong's to Rotary. His chapter has done a lot in Guatemala-sending each year the interact club to build a house in a bout a week's time and also provide water systems for different towns and a constant fundraising effort simply for flip-flops. Glad I caught this...love seeing and hearing about it.
Thanks Susan! Rotary is a fabulous organization! We had quite a few interact kids with us on this trip too...a great experience for them (several of whom gave up going to their prom to go and build a home!!!) I love that your dad's club does fundraising for flip flops!!!
I agree with Susan Chieftess, you've composed this portrait beautifully. So interesting to read comments, I knew all about the work Rotary does, should have realized that they would be involved in 'partner projects' also.
