Tonight's lunar eclipse from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. It's very subtle, but you should be able to see some of the Earth's shadow coming across the bottom right or southeast side of the moon.
Bill - It was taken with a Canon 100-400 zoom at 400mm with a 1.4x tele-converter, total 560mm. It's about a 50% crop of the original frame. Glad you liked it.

fantastic picture!
Watching the lunar eclipse is something that fascinated me ever since I was allowed to stay up and watch my first one at the old age of 8.
That interest has never gone away.
That is one great shot. Very nice detail.
Telephoto lens or telescope?

Really good! I've NEVER taken a decent photo of the moon. I'm asking Santa for a tripod this year.
